English II (Period 4)

Course Description

The English II curriculum covers American Literature from early writers such as Hawthorne and Twain to more modern writers such as Miller and Cisneros.

Students will be immersed in poetry, short-stories, novels, and various non-fiction pieces to compare different styles and themes.  Students will be asked to engage in lessons to improve their confidence speaking and listening in an academic setting.  Students will also write constantly, both creatively and academically in different capacities to practice and build upon the skills they have been learning throughout their academic careers.

There will be a vocabulary test every "double day" that students are in room 2 for English II.

Each quarterly assessment will be worth 25% of the marking period grade.
