Create a Number Line
(8.NS.2)
For this project, you will use rational numbers and irrational numbers to create a number line. Decide which ten irrational numbers you want to use and write them down. You may use a calculator to find a value to use for each irrational number so that you are able to place them in the proper location on your number line. Write the equivalents for all of your irrational number next to the irrational number you are using. Make a draft of your number line labeling all your points on paper. Make a list of ten rational numbers either on the same paper as the irrational numbers or on another sheet of paper. Add your rational numbers to your number line.
Use color on your number line to distinguish between rational and irrational numbers and to make them stand out. Put a cardboard backing on your number line or laminate it so that it will be easier to display to your classmates.
This project must be completed by Monday, November 16, 2015 and is worth 20 test/project points. All parts of the project must be presented to the class on that day. If your project is not present on that day, you will loose 5 points for each day it is late.
