Recognition for Weehawken’s AP Program

Dr. Zywicki was recently informed that Weehawken was named to two prestigious lists of top performing districts published annually by the College Board. For increased participation and scores of 3 or higher on AP Exams, Weehawken was one of 425 districts in the U.S. to be named to the 2015 AP Honor Roll.  Weehawken was the only district from Hudson County, NJ on the 2015 AP Honor Roll. Additionally, Weehawken was recognized on the Gaston Caperton Honor Roll as one of 130 districts in the U.S. for excelling in creating opportunities for traditionally underrepresented students. Dr. Zywicki views the district’s AP Capstone selection and AP Honor Roll recognitions as being “demonstrative of  a robust commitment by Board President Richard Barsa, the Trustees, administration, and teachers to providing Weehawken’s students access to the most rigorous, challenging and relevant curricula.”

To engage parents and community members in discussions about the expanded AP course offerings and opportunities at Weehawken High School in 2016-17, the district will be holding an “AP Night” on March 2, 2016.
