The Panasonic New Vision Awards contest is an annual activity in which the students of the Video Editing classes produce video projects that are submitted under various categories. The categories include Documentary, Fiction (Drama or Comedy), Health, Science and Technology, Local Hero, News, and Public Service Announcement. This national competition provides the opportunity for the Panasonic company to showcase videos created by KidWitness News programs developed in schools throughout the United States. Weehawken High School was awarded a New Vision Award in a the documentary category for "The History of Weehawken (Part I)" in 1996.
